On Wednesday, Florida lawmakers approved a bill that would mandate individuals to use public restrooms corresponding to their biological sex in specific facilities, pending the signature of Governor Ron DeSantis.
According to reports, those who refuse to vacate restrooms that do not match their biological sex when asked could face criminal trespassing charges.
The legislation would be applicable to government buildings, K-12 schools, prisons and detention centers.
