Sofya Zhuk, once seen as a promising figure in Russian tennis, demonstrated her potential by claiming the junior girls’ championship at Wimbledon in 2015, achieving the remarkable feat without losing a single set.
Despite her early success, Zhuk’s performance in subsequent Grand Slam tournaments was less impressive. Zhuk made the difficult decision to step away from the sport at the young age of 20 in 2020 due to a persistent back injury, cutting her tennis journey short.
