German Climate Nuts Throw Mashed Potatoes At $110M Monet Painting

  • Two German protesters threw mashed potatoes at a painting by Claude Monet that was sold for over $110 million on Sunday in protest of climate change.
  • video posted by the Twitter account Last Generation, the group that claimed responsibility for the stunt, shows the two protesters throwing mashed potatoes at the painting and then kneeling in front of it and gluing their hands to the wall below the painting.
  • Police arrested the protesters for property damage and trespassing at the Barberini museum in Postdam, about 20 miles southeast of Berlin.
