• The Blaze, a conservative website, reported this week that a Vermont’s girls’ basketball team forfeited a playoff game instead of taking on an opponent that featured a transgender player.
• The Mid Vermont Christian School Eagles of White River Junction, the No. 12 seed, were set to battle the Long Trail Mountain Lions of Dorset, the No. 5 seed, during the first round of the state playoff tournament.
• However, the Eagles dropped out of the tournament and therefore forfeited their chance to compete for a state title after they learned that one member of the Mountain Lions is a male.
