- A majority of Democrats do not want President Joe Biden to run for re-election in 2024, per the findings of a new poll released Sunday.
- The poll, conducted by ABC News & the Washington Post, showed that just 35% of Democratic-registered and Democratic-leaning independent respondents wanted Biden to run again, while 56% said that the party should nominate somebody else in 2024.
- By comparison, Republicans voiced more support for their 2020 nominee, former President Donald Trump. Among Republicans and GOP-leaning independents, 47% said that Trump should be the party’s 2024 nominee, while 46% said that another candidate should be the nominee.
