GOP AGs’ New Target: Big US Banks’ ‘Alliance’ To UN Climate Requirements
Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich and 18 other attorneys general served six of the largest U.S banks with civil investigative demands.

- The attorneys general are asking for documents related to the banks’ involvement with the United Nations’ Net-Zero Banking Alliance, which requires member banks to set emissions reduction targets in their lending and investment portfolios to reach net zero by 2050.
- “American banks should never put political agendas ahead of the secure retirement of their clients,” Brnovich said. “These financial institutions are entrusted with protecting a different type of green.”
- Republican attorneys general gave increasingly used their collective strength to challenge numerous issues that they consider out of life with U.S. domestic and foreign policy – and moreover illegal – including court challenges to the Biden administration’s pandemic-related mandates and more recently its student-loan forgiveness program.
