- On Oct. 18, an unknown assailant fired a bullet into the North Carolina home Republican congressional candidate Pat Harrigan, barely missing Harrigan’s two daughters.
- Harrigan, a former Green Beret, isn’t pulling any punches. He blames the “vile and nasty lies” from his opponent, State Sen. Jeff Jackson, for the shooting.
- Jackson’s staff also shot a campaign ad near the Harrigan home shortly before the attack.
