- GOP governors are pushing back on the CDC’s plan to make COVID-19 vaccines part of the 2023 immunization schedule, assuring constituents that state requirements aren’t changing.
- Parents seem disinclined to have their children vaccinated. At a conference this week, a CDC epidemiologist complained that the agency couldn’t measure the effectiveness of the vaccine in children under 5 “because kids aren’t getting vaccinated.”
- Roughly a dozen GOP governors, led by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, have denounced the CDC’s plans and affirmed that, as DeSantis said, “there will be no COVID shot mandates for your kids.”
