House Republicans have increased their investigation into a letter that was used to undermine the Hunter Biden laptop story before the 2020 presidential election by threatening the CIA with a subpoena.

In a letter addressed to CIA Director William Burns on Wednesday, Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Intelligence Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) stated that if the intelligence agency fails to fully comply with their previous request for documents, the committees “may resort to compulsory process.”

Following up on a staff report released last week, which uncovered the potential involvement of an active CIA employee in obtaining the signature of a former intelligence official, the GOP investigators have set a deadline of May 30 for the production of the records “in unredacted form.”
