Grassley and Johnson sent a letter Friday to Deputy Assistant Director of Counterintelligence Bradley Benavides and Field Office Intelligence Division Nikki Floris requesting they submit to transcribed interview.
The senator’s probe focus the overseas business dealings of President Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, left-behind laptop that might have key evidence.
Grassley is top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee; Johnson is the top Republican on the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.
Senators say Floris and Benavides’ 2020 briefing led to a leak falsely labeling their probe as advancing Russian disinformation.
“FBI officials initiated a scheme to downplay derogatory information on Hunter Biden for the purpose of shutting down investigative activity relating to his potential criminal exposure by labeling it ‘disinformation,’ ” senators wrote.
