Haley’s Home State Hello To Trump: ‘Time For A New Generation To Lead’

Former South Carolina GOP Gov. Nikki Haley made the statement Sunday on Twitter hour before Trump arrived in the state to officially begin his 2024 presidential campaign.

  • Haley, who was the United States’ U.N. ambassador under Trump has previously said she wouldn’t run for president if the former president sought reelection.
  • Haley reportedly could announce her bid in February.
  • “When you’re looking at the future of America, I think it’s time for new generational change. I don’t think you need to be 80 years old to go be a leader in D.C.,” the 51-year-old Haley said. “I think we need a young generation to come in, step up, and really start fixing things.”
  • Trump is 76 and President Biden is 80.
