Armie Hammer Breaks Silence: Denies Criminal Actions, Admits ‘Used’ People

The disgraced actor says that as a teen he was sexually abused by his youth pastor, in first interview since 2021.

  • The actor and father of two says all the encounters exposed in 2021 were consensual, though he acknowledges having been emotionally abusive in relationships.
  • “I had a very intense and extreme lifestyle,” Hammer told Air Mail, a digital newsletter. “I would scoop up these women, bring them into it – into this whirlwind of travel and sex and drugs and big emotions flying around – and then as soon as I was done, I’d just drop them off and move on to the next woman, leaving that woman feeling abandoned or used.”
  • As a result of the accusations by women, which started with online posts of screenshots of violent and graphic texts sent by Hammer, the “Call Me By Your Name” lost his talent agent and was dropped from projects.
  • In February 2021, the Los Angeles police department opened a sexual-assault probe into Hammer but findings have yet to be released.
