• Ferndale Area District Library in Oakland County Michigan begged the community for help this week with restocking its “Pride” display in the children’s section after they say two people affiliated with a group called “Hide the Pride” checked out all the LGBTQ books they could get their hands on.
• The library posted a plea on Facebook this week, asking residents to “increase accessibility to these books” by making a donation and purchasing more LGBTQ books suggested on the library’s Amazon Wishlist.
• “Let’s send a message that Ferndale supports their library, its staff, and our LGBTQ+ neighbors,” staff said in the post.
