Hill Republicans Want Apologies, Consequences For CCP

Within hours of the Wall Street Journal exclusive about the Energy Department now stating COVID-19 likely leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a top Republican senator and House member want an apology – and more – for having been criticized by the mainstream media and others for arguing the pandemic started with the leak.

  • The Energy Department was until now undecided on the origin of the pandemic and now thinks it was leaked as a result of lab mishap, according to a classified intelligence report recently provided to the White House and key members of Congress.
  • The lab leak theory was widely dismissed as a conspiracy theory and “misinformation.”
  • “Re. China’s lab leak, being proven right doesn’t matter,” Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton tweeted. “What matters is holding the Chinese Communist Party accountable so this doesn’t happen again.”
  • Texas Sen. Ted Cruz tweeted: “4 [clown emojis] for Glenn,” referring to Washington Post fact-checker Glenn Kessler who previously said, “It is virtually impossible for this virus jump from the lab” and attacked Cruz.
