Hillary Clinton Makes Endorsement For CA Governor’s Race To Replace Newsom

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has announced her support for California Democratic Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis in her campaign to succeed Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) in the upcoming 2026 gubernatorial election.

Kounalakis, who declared her candidacy in April, aims to run for the governorship since Newsom is term-limited and cannot seek reelection in 2026.

In a statement quoted by the Los Angeles Times, Clinton praised Kounalakis as a formidable leader and highlighted her commitment to the California way.
