House Votes To Sanction Communist China For Forced Organ Harvesting

Uyghurs, practitioners of Falun Gong among tens of thousands of annual victims

  • The House voted 413-2 Monday to pass a measure aimed at sanctioning communist China’s illicit trade in human organs.
  • Approximately 60,000 to 100,000 young adults are killed each year by communist Chinese authorities for their organs, according to Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ).
  • Uyghurs from northwest China and Falun Gong practitioners, a movement outlawed by the government of Xi Jinping, are among the victims of forced organ harvesting, he said.
