Ian Anxiety: Florida Woman Mistakenly Pulls Gun On People In Gas Station Line

A 59-year-old woman was arrested Saturday for allegedly pointing a pistol at a couple whom she mistakenly thought was cutting in line at a Fort Myers gas station, as some necessities appear to more scarce three days after Hurricane Ian pummeled parts of the state.

  • Terri Johns, 59, is accused of aiming a firearm at a car carrying the two women whom she thought were “trying to skip the line to get gas,” on Saturday, according to the Fort Myers Police Department .
  • The tries of the vehicle was in fact “simply trying to make a U-turn in the congested traffic,” authorities said.
  • Johns faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and displaying a firearm during a felony, police said.
  • “This is the behavior that WILL NOT be tolerated at any time much less during this state of emergency,” Fort Myers police said.
