- 42-year-old David DePape is facing deportation as he’s held on charges related to the hammer attack on Paul Pelosi.
- DePape is a Canadian national in the country illegally, and DHS has confirmed that it will seek deportation for DePape upon completion of the criminal case against him.
- In a statement, DHS said: ‘U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged an immigration detainer on Canadian national David DePape with San Francisco County Jail, November 1, following his October 28 arrest.
