IMF Warns ‘The Worst Is Yet To Come’

  • Global growth will slow to 2.7 percent in 2023, the International Monetary Fund has estimated in its recently published World Economic Outlook.
  • Although the GDP estimate remained steady for 2022, excluding the Covid-19 pandemic and the global financial crisis, the IMF reported that this is “the weakest growth profile since 2001.”
  • “The worst is yet to come, and for many people 2023 will feel like a recession,” the IMF report said.
