- Kristalina Georgieva, the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Face the Nation that one-third of the global economy will be in recession this year.
- The warning comes as challenges stemming from the war in Ukraine, the spread of COVID-19 in China, higher interest rates, and rising prices continue.
- “Even countries that are not in recession, it would feel like recession for hundreds of millions of people,” she said.
