Jersey Shore Carny Banned 10 Years For Rigging Games, Over-Inflating Footballs

A woman who operates amusement games along the boardwalks in New Jersey's Wildwood and North Wildwood has been banned for 10 years failing to comply with regulations, including over-inflating balls for basketball and quarterback challenge games.

  • New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin is announcing the ban said the operator Christine Strothers was also fined over $15,000 in connection with the violations.
  • State investigators involved in the case also said the prizes on display were misleading.
  • “Every person who plays an amusement game in the State of New Jersey deserves a fair shot at winning a prize,” Platkin said. “The Jersey Shore is one of the biggest draws in the state for families looking for fun and recreation, and we are making sure those families are not being scammed out of their hard-earned money.”
