JFK Grandson Jack Schlossberg Launches Campaign For NYC House Seat

Jack Schlossberg, the only grandson of former President John F. Kennedy, launched his New York congressional campaign on Wednesday to replace retiring Rep. Jerry Nadler.

Schlossberg, a 32-year-old journalist, is entering the Democratic primary to represent New York’s 12th Congressional District, which includes Manhattan’s midtown and Upper East and Upper West sides, according to CBS News.

The only other candidate currently in the race is Democratic Assemblyman Micah Lasher – who is a former aide to Nadler, Gov. Kathy Hochul, and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Lasher is also a political ally of New York Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani.

In a statement, Schlossberg announced his campaign, saying “America is in crisis” and claiming that President Trump is “using his power to suspend civil rights, silence dissent, and send armed forces into our cities.”

“We can do better,” he continued. “The Democratic Party must win back the House of Representatives and elect a new generation of leaders.”
