- A federal judge on Friday denied Bannon’s request for a new trial, after jurors convicted him of contempt of Congress for ignored the subpoena.
- Bannon’s argument in part was that the jury that convicted him on two misdemeanor charges received flawed instructions and that he was blocked from having lawmakers, including members of the House committee that issued the subpoena, from testifying at his trial
- “Defendant’s arguments on this score do not warrant a new trial,” wrote U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols.
