Judge Extends Influencer Andrew Tate’s Detention To 30 Days

A judge in Romania has extend the detention of controversial influencer and former kickboxer Andrew Tate to 30 days, after he was initially ordered held Thursday for 24 hours on charges connected to human trafficking, rape and forming an organized crime group.

  • The 36-year-old Tate was detained along with his brother, Tristian, and two other Romanians after official raided their property in Budapest.
  • Tate, a British citizen, has previously been banned from social media platforms for his apparent violations of posts found to be misogynistic and hate speech.
  • Prosecutors say they found six women who allege being sexually exploited by the suspects.
  • Romanian authorities say a pizza box did not tip off agencies to Tate’s whereabouts, contrary to what has been posted on social media.
