After being censured by Republicans for warning them that they would have blood on their hands for opposing gender surgery for kids, Rep. Zooey Zephyr will be prohibited from returning to the Montana state House floor due to a Tuesday court ruling.
District Court Judge Mike Menahan denied Zephyr’s request to return after state lawyers asked him to reject it, citing that the judge did not have the authority to overrule the legislature and return Zephyr to the House floor.
According to Menahan’s five-page ruling, granting the request “would require this court to interfere with legislative authority in a manner that exceeds this court’s authority.”
