Jurors In Murdaugh Murder Case To Visit Crime Scene

Jurors in the murder trial of disgraced South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh will be allows to visit before deliberating to visit th  home where the killings occurred, the judge ruled Monday.

  • Lawyers for the  asked for the trip to the South Carolina property so that the jury can see the dog kennels near where the body of Murdaugh’s wife, Maggie Murdaugh was found and the storage room son Paul Murdaugh was killed June 7, 2021.
  • The 54-year-old Alex Murdaugh is charged with murder in both death.. He faces 30 years to life in prison if convicted. Before the jury visit issue came up, both sides suggested that closing statements and deliberations could begin this week.
  • The defense team wants the jurors to go while prosecutors object, saying they didn’t want them to visit because it has been 20 months since the killings and it looks different, in a case that has captured the interest of many Americans.
