KC Chief’s Harrison Butker Becomes Highest Paid Kicker In NFL History

Harrison Butker has agreed to the terms of a four-year $25.6 million contract extension with the Kansas City Chiefs, making Butker the highest paid kicker in NFL history. The previous highest paid kicker in all NFL history was Justin Tucker, who had signed a four-year $24 million contract, per Sporting News.

The contract includes $17.8 million in guaranteed money, according to the outlet, and makes the 29-year-old football player the highest paid kicker in the whole league. Butker has helped to win all three of the KC Chief victories since 2020.

NFL News reported, “In seven seasons with the Chiefs, Butker has made 89.1% of his field goal attempts and 94.5% of his point-after tries. His career-long of 62 yards came in 2022. In 19 postseason games, he’s hit 88.9% of 36 field goal attempts and 95.4% of 65 PATs.”

The news of Butker’s contract comes as he has been under scrutiny by left-wing media and political pundits for comments he made about women having children in a speech he gave at Benedictine College, a private Catholic school.

“I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolic lies told to you,” Butker said during the address. “Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.”
