Kemp, Abrams Spar Over Crime, Education

Though Georgia appears to be moving from a Republican- to Democrat-leaning state, voters still appear to like and trust GOP Gov. Brian Kemp for what he has done for the state.

  • The Kemp-Abrams debate, and gubernatorial race, is a rematch of the very close 2018 contest.
  • Kemp beat Abrams four years ago by less than 2%.
  • That crime and education were flash points in the debate for the governor and his Democrat challenger was no surprise, considering those two topic have bene central issues this midterm cycle.
  • The top candidates were joined on stage by Libertarian Shane Hazel.
