LA City Councilman Fights Activist At Christmas Party, Loses Santa Hat

Embattled Democrat Los Angeles City Councilman Kevin de Leon got into an altercation Friday evening with an activist while the lawmaker was handing out toys at a community Christmas event.

  • Two video of the incident are circulating, including one in which De Leon and the activist come face to face, then the lawmaker pushes the activist onto a table as his Santa hat flies off.
  • The activist is being identified as RootsAction and J-TOWN Action and Solidarity member Jason Reedy.
  • Police are investigating the incident in which both man accuse each other of being the instigator.
