Lab-Grown Babies In 5 Years? Japanese Researchers Say Yes

A groundbreaking development in the field of reproductive science may make it feasible to grow human babies entirely in a laboratory within the next five years.

Scientists in Japan have made remarkable progress towards the ability to generate human eggs and sperm from scratch in a lab setting, with the subsequent development of these cells taking place in an artificial womb.

Professor Katsuhiko Hayashi, a Japanese researcher from Kyushu University who has successfully achieved this process using mice, is optimistic that he can replicate these results in humans within a five-year timeframe.
