• Utah GOP Sen. Mike Lee, who is locked in a tight reelection campaign against Evan McMullin, said his 2016 presidential vote for McMullin was “a huge mistake.”
• Lee: “I was wrong, I didn’t believe President Trump would do the things he promised to do and I was sore over how my colleagues had been treated during the election cycle. That vote was a huge mistake and would be huge mistake for my fellow Utahns to vote for Evan McMullin today.”
• McMullin, who has been endorsed by the Democratic Party this year, garnered less than 1% of the vote during his 2016 run. However, he got 21.5% of the 2016 presidential vote in Utah.
