Liz Part II: McCarthy To Become Leader Of GOP’s ‘Pro-Putin Wing’

The congresswoman, who lost her seat in this year's primaries in large part over her anti-Trump rhetoric and actions, made the comment after McCarthy said last week that a GOP-led House was not going to write a 'blank' check to help Ukraine defend against Russia's war.

Cheney made the comment Sunday along with saying Trump won’t be allowed to testify publicly before the House’s Jan. 6 committee, of which she is a co-chairperson.

If Republican retake the lower chamber in November, McCarthy, the House minority leader, is expected to become House speaker.

“The notion that now Kevin McCarthy is going to make himself the leader of the pro-Putin wing of my party is just a stunning thing,” Cheney said on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” referring to Russia President Vladimir Putin. “It’s dangerous, he knows better.”
