Man Arrested In Seattle Threatening To Bomb Sen. Murray

A Canadian man was arrested in Seattle last week for targeting Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) on social media with bomb threats.

According to court documents obtained by KOMO News, 29-year-old Louis Bernabe flew from Toronto to Seattle and booked a room at the W Hotel, which is located approximately three blocks from Murray’s office.

Bernabe does not have a residence or employment in the Seattle area and it remains unclear when he arrived in the Emerald City.

On September 10, Bernabe posted a threat to bomb Murray’s car on social media that said, “Senator Murray @senpattymurray, I am warning you ONCE AND FOR ALL. Quit your trashy play of partisan nonsense AT ONCE, or I swear to God, I WILL have you check the undercarriage of your car every single day to ensure you don’t get BLOWN UP to pieces. The people of this county have had it with the nonproductive crap from both sides. I have not seen my girlfriend in FIVE YEARS. We have the right to be in couple and reproduce if we choose to. If you deny us this right, you are nothing more than a nasty animal. In this case, I will condone whoever decides to put you down. Rabid creatures should be put to death.”

The following day, Bernabe, who has no criminal history or past convictions, went to Murray’s Seattle office and asked her staff how to meet her. He then posted a selfie standing on the floor where Murray’s office is located. He also posted a picture of a Heckler & Koch UMP submachine gun.

According to court documents, Bernabe was booked into the King County jail for two counts of making bomb threats and felony harassment. He was originally held on $50,000 bail before it was increased to $250,000.
