Man Who Escaped House Arrest After Bribing Naval Officers With Hookers Arrested In Venezuela

- Leonard Glenn Francis, the Malaysian defense contractor who perpetrated the largest bribery scandal in U.S. military history, was arrested Tuesday morning in Venezuela after he escaped house arrest two weeks ago, reports say.
- The international manhunt for “Fat Leonard,” as he is known, began after he cut off his GPS ankle monitor and fled his California home Sept. 4, the Associated Press reported.
- Leonard made his way to Venezuela from Mexico, with a stopover in Cuba, according to the AP. Authorities arrested Francis in Caracas, where the fugitive was attempting to board a Russia-bound flight, the BBC reported.
