- Senate Majority Leader vowed to get Manchin the bill after he changes his mind and became Senate Democrats’ decisive vote in July passing the $740 billion 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, which includes about $370 billion for climate-change related initiatives.
- Manchin also said he hopes Republicans will change their minds about opposing it before it comes up for a vote on a stopgap funding bill next week.
- If Congress fails the pass the temporary spending measure, parts of the federal government would go broke and shut down after Sept. 30.
