Vice President Vance and conservative influencer Laura Loomer traded jabs on social media Friday after Loomer questioned why Republicans were “pushing more abortion messaging” ahead of the November midterms.
“Why is the GOP pushing more abortion messaging in a midterm election year? Didn’t they learn their lesson in 2018? Loomer wrote Friday afternoon on social platform X.
“[President] Trump doesn’t like it when the GOP focuses on abortion,” she added. “How many times does he have to say this?”
“Trump gets it,” Loomer concluded, predicting that the GOP “will blow the midterms.”
Loomer’s comments came shortly after Vance spoke Friday at the March for Life, an annual demonstration that draws tens of thousands of anti-abortion activists to Washington, D.C.
The vice president touted the administration’s record on abortion, citing the recent expansion of a policy that prevents U.S. aid from going to organizations that promote abortion access and “gender ideology,” among other highlights.
Vance defended his appearance at the event in a response to Loomer soon after, accusing her of attempting to sow discord within the party.
