- A new report by Challenger, Gray & Christmas estimates that employers will eat $17.3 billion in costs as a result of lost productivity during March Madness.
- The figure took into account workers participating in brackets and watching games while on the clock as the NCAA tournament takes place during more than two weeks of workdays.
- The 2023 figure is a new record and makes a $1 billion jump from the prior year.
