Biden, McCarthy Agree To Meet This Week Over Debt Ceiling

- McCarthy said he is looking forward to discussing with Biden about a “reasonable and responsible way that we can lift the debt ceiling ” when they meet for their first time on matter.
- The California Republican said the event will be at the White House and the first the two have talked face-to-face about the matter since McCarthy won the speakership earlier this month.
- “I want to sit down together, work out an agreement that we can move forward to put us on a path to balance — and at the same time not put any of our debt in jeopardy at the same time.”
