McCarthy Reaffirms Promise To Pull Omar From Foreign Affairs Committee

- McCarthy reaffirmed his promise Saturday at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s 2022 leadership meeting in Las Vegas.
- “We watch antisemitism grow, not just on our campuses, but we watched it grow In the halls of Congress. I promised you last year that as speaker she will no longer be on Foreign Affairs, and I’m keeping that promise,” the California Republican said.
- Since Omar was elected to Congress in 2018, she has made comments against Jews and Israel and used antisemitic tropes. Omar has apologized at least once for such comments.
- In a since-deleted tweet, Omar, who is Muslim, said Jews were buying political support tweeting, “It’s all about the Benjamins baby.”
