McDonald’s Re-Opens In Kiev

The popular and generationally-successful fast-food franchise pioneer paused all operations in Ukraine after Russia invaded in February.

  • McDonald’s says it will start reopening locations Tuesday in Kyiv, according to the fast food chain’s head of corporate communications in Ukraine.
  • Restaurants will open in Kyiv and western Ukraine “gradually over two months.
  • McDonald’s says it has continued to pay over 10,000 Ukrainian employees’ salaries since start of war.
  • Each McDonald’s location will reopen by only offering delivery while the drive-through and dine-in will be unavailable until October.
