Miami-Dade County Wants To Remove FTX Name From Miami Heat Arena

  • Miami-Dade county is making legal actions to permanently remove the “FTX” name and logo from the Miami arena where the Heat plays.
  • “It does not appear that the Debtor will suffer harm from a termination of the Naming Rights Agreement. On the other hand, Miami-Dade County continues to supply valuable marquee naming rights and other benefits to the Debtor, to the detriment of the County’s ability to seek a new naming partner for the Arena,” reads the motion submitted by the county.
  • The arena had been named the FTX Arena since mid-2021 as a part of a 19-year, $135 million sponsorship agreement.
