House Republicans shifted their focus from debt ceiling negotiations on Tuesday to engage in a fundraising effort for the National Republican Congressional Committee.
The auction featured Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) previously-owned chapstick, which attracted significant attention. During a 15-minute auction, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) secured the lip balm by offering a substantial amount of $100,000.
“I’m honored to be able to donate $100,000 to the NRCC to help Republicans increase our majority in 2024 and defeat the Democrats,” Greene said. “My constituents will be honored to host a visit with Speaker Kevin McCarthy who we all think is doing a great job.”Click to read full article Go back home
