- Tesla CEO Elon Musk is praising Republican Sen. Tim Scott for an ad about “individual responsibility” he made Friday, the same day the South Carolina lawmaker filed paperwork to run in the 2024 presidential race.
- “Great statement by @votetimscott!” Musk said in a tweet in which he also posted Scott’s advertisement.
- “We have to start teaching the necessity of individual responsibility,” Scott said in the 30-second ad. “If you are able-bodied, you work.”
- Scott is expected to announce his candidacy Monday.
- Musk previously hinted that he could also support a Republican for president in 2024 in response to a question from a Tesla owners club.
