Elon Musk, the world’s richest person, wants to extend his influence to the Democrat Party.
The tech mogul said Friday he will fund moderate primary challengers to incumbent Democrats in safe Democrat districts.
“Forgot to mention that I’m also going to be funding moderate candidates in heavily Democrat districts, so that the country can get rid of those who don’t represent them, like this jackass,” Musk wrote on X, which he owns, in response to a video of Rep. Richard Neal, D-Mass.
Musk took offense to a floor speech Neal gave criticizing him and President-elect Donald Trump for helping to scuttle a funding agreement.
“Can you imagine what the next two years are going to be like?” Neal said in the clip. “If every time the Congress works its will and then there’s a tweet from an individual who has no official portfolio, who threatens members on the Republican side with a primary, they succumb?”
Progressives previously tried to boot Neal as ranking member on the Ways and Means Committee, Politico reported.
