Nathan Wade Interview Interrupted After Asked About Gal Pal Fani Willis

Former special prosecutor Nathan Wade‘s interview with CNN was paused after host Kaitlan Collins asked when his relationship with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis began.

Willis is the district attorney in charge of the Georgia election interference case against former President Donald Trump. While Willis admitted she hired Wade and started a romantic relationship with him, the order of those two events has not been verified. Collins decided to ask Wade directly when their relationship began.

“There’s been this effort to say that. OK. These exact dates are at issue in these exact dates are — I’m getting, I’m getting signaled here,” Wade said.

Wade’s consultant asked to speak with him, causing a pause in the interview for a few moments as he spoke to Wade with their backs to the camera and Wade’s microphone turned off. After their conversation, Wade returned to his chair before Collins asked again when the romantic relationship started and ended.

“So I believe that the public has, through the testimony and other interviews, a clear snapshot that this is clearly just a distraction. It is not a relevant issue in this case,” Wade said. “And I think that we should be focusing on more of the facts and the indictment of the case.”

According to Wade, who is no longer working the case, he and Willis are “great friends” who “speak regularly.” As a result of the accusations of an improper relationship between the two, Trump’s team has called to disqualify Willis from the case. The Georgia Court of Appeals will host the first hearing on the matter in early October.
