- Nearly 140,000 snowmobiles were recalled by Polaris Industries Inc. Thursday after exploding gas tanks were reported across the United States.
- Fuel tank vapors inside the tanks are being ignited by electrostatic discharge, Polaris said in its recall notice.
- At least 30 reports of burst fuel tanks have been fielded by Polaris. A reported 16 of those reports included incidents of fire.
