Neil DeGrasse Tyson: ‘Bring Out The Alien’ If Govt Has Proof

Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson said Sunday that if the federal government truly possesses evidence of extraterrestrial life, officials should stop hinting about it and publicly reveal it.

“Is it too much to ask that, if you have got them in the back shed, just bring out the alien?” Tyson told CNN’s “State of the Union.” “Then we would all transition from asking one another, do you believe in aliens to, well, yes, of course, the alien is there.”

Tyson made the remarks while discussing the Pentagon’s recent release of government UFO files and his new book, “Take Me To Your Leader.” The files document years of investigations into unidentified aerial phenomena, or UAPs, the government’s preferred term for UFOs.

Host Dana Bash noted that congressional hearings in recent years featured testimony from whistleblowers, military officers, and intelligence officials alleging the government recovered alien materials and reverse-engineered technology.

Tyson said the debate has moved beyond stories from civilians claiming to see mysterious objects.

“Given the testimonies that we have heard delivered in front of Congress in 2023, 2024, 2025 from whistleblowers and insiders and military officials, ex-military, ex-intelligence officers, it’s no longer just the farmer in the back 40,” Tyson said.
