Nevada Judge Keeps Unqualified Candidate On Ballot, Benefits Dems

  • John Kennedy, the Libertarian candidate for attorney general in Nevada, is not qualified for the position. He is not an attorney, nor is he a member of the Nevada Bar Association.
  • Nevertheless, a Carson City district court judge said Kennedy must remain on the ballot despite lacking the qualification and no longer desiring to run for office.
  • The Republican nominee for attorney general, Sigal, Chattah, wanted Kennedy removed from the ballot, saying his presence on the ballot would take votes away from her.
