New Starbucks CEO Takes Over

Howard Schultz gears up to testify before U.S. Senate

  • On Monday, and two weeks ahead of schedule, Laxman Narasimhan formally assumed the position of CEO of Starbucks. 
  • Interim CEO Howard Schultz is getting ready to testify before the Senate on March 29 regarding Starbuck’s response to the more than 280 stores voting to unionize.
  • Schultz has been working as interim CEO since October 2022, and Narasimhan was announced as new CEO in September.
