  • California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom made the announcement Monday that his state will not be doing business with Walgreens Boots Alliance over its decision not to dispense an abortion pill in more than a dozen states.
  • “California won’t be doing business with Walgreens or any company that cowers to the extremists and puts women’s lives at risk,” Newsom tweeted. “We’re done.”
  • The attorneys general told Walgreens and CVS that selling mifepristone would be in violation of the 1873 Comstock Act that makes illegal the sending of contraceptives, substances that induce abortion, pornographic content, sex toys and any written material about these items.
